Hi, I’m Tamara

A therapist deeply committed to guiding individuals through the complex journeys of perimenopause and menopause

My approach to therapy is shaped by both my professional training and my personal experiences. Having lived through my own difficult life transitions, including menopause, I understand the profound impact these changes can have on your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a passion for helping others find meaning and connection in their lives. I prioritize relationships and experiences that bring fulfillment, believing that our connections with others are fundamental to our well-being. This belief is at the heart of my practice, where I strive to create a space that mirrors these values, offering you a place where you can feel truly seen and heard.

I know all too well how overwhelming the journey through perimenopause and menopause can be. When I went through it myself, I felt lost, struggling to recognize who I was or why I felt so out of sync with my own body.

Desperate for answers, I consulted multiple specialists—my primary care doctor, a rheumatologist, an orthopedic specialist, a gynecologist, and even a urologist. Each one gave me a different diagnosis, and soon, I found myself living with several new conditions that only distanced me further from who I once was.

This experience of being overlooked and misunderstood ignited a fire in me. It fuels my deep commitment to educating and empowering women so they never feel dismissed or silenced during this profound transition in their lives. With the right support, information, and self-compassion, you can navigate this phase of life with confidence and empowerment.

I’m inspired by the resilience and tenacity of people who overcome adversity, who take what they have and make something extraordinary out of it. This inspiration fuels my dedication to empowering my clients. I see therapy as a collaborative journey where we work together to uncover your inherent strengths and capabilities. My goal is to help you realize that you are already complete, with all the resources you need to succeed.

I bring a contemporary, straightforward approach to our sessions. As a New Yorker, I value honesty and authenticity, and I’m not afraid to drop an f-bomb if it helps you feel more comfortable and understood. You don’t have to censor yourself here—our work together is about being real, facing challenges head-on, and finding the path to your best self.

The unseen struggles of navigating this change can be deeply impactful

And you no longer have to go through them alone

Navigating perimenopause and menopause can be an incredibly challenging journey, physically, emotionally, and psychologically. You might find yourself grappling with intense mood swings that leave you feeling out of control, or anxiety that seems to come out of nowhere. Sleep disturbances may plague your nights, leading to exhaustion that seeps into every part of your day. You might also experience weight changes that affect your self-esteem and how you see yourself in the mirror. These physical symptoms are compounded by emotional struggles that can leave you feeling isolated and misunderstood.

The world around you often doesn’t understand the depth of what you're going through. Friends and family, though well-meaning, might dismiss your experiences or offer advice that feels disconnected from your reality. Healthcare providers may not fully grasp the complexity of your symptoms, leading to frustration and a sense of being unheard. This lack of understanding can exacerbate feelings of loneliness and helplessness, making it even harder to cope with the changes you're facing.

The support and insights gained from therapy can transform this challenging period into a time of personal growth and resilience. You'll find that the struggles you face are not insurmountable obstacles but opportunities to discover new strengths and capacities within yourself. Therapy can help you reclaim a sense of normalcy and joy, allowing you to embrace this stage of life with a renewed sense of purpose and empowerment. Through this journey, you’ll develop a deeper connection with yourself and the resources to navigate future challenges with grace and confidence.
